LoA 10s #2 - Austrian Artillery - WIP 12h 30m

Hi All,

Apologies this is coming to you late, my battery died on my camera!

On brighter note, Ive completed work on the Austrian artillery and therefore the whole LoA 10s #2 commission. Starting next week LoA 10s #3, this time the Irish will be gracing my studio.

Below is a generic(at least for the two armies I've painted) guide to painting LoA artillery and some pics

League of Augsburg Artillery
Clean the miniatures, superglue any required parts, attach to temporary bases
Apply undercoats(2) to the minis with the airbrush using a 1:1 mix of Black Surface Primer(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)
Apply a lighter undercoat from a 45 degree angle with a 1:1:1 mix of White:Black Surface Primer(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)
Apply an even lighter undercoat from a 33 degree angle with a 2:1:1 mix of White:Black Surface Primer(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)
Following the chart below, airbrush the minis first from a 45 degree angle (shade) & then from a 33 degree angle (highlight) - See Infantry/Cavalry guides for their colours

Plague Brown(VGC)
1:1 Plague Brown(VGC):White(VMC)

Apply a 1:1 mix of Gloss Varnish(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)
Paint the Artillerymen & horses using their LoA guides
Hard edge highlight any red artillery with a slightly thinned coat of Blazing Orange(C)
Hard edge highlight any Yellow artillery with a un-thinned coat of Pale Yellow(VMC)
Paint the black areas (artillery equipment, gun/limber metal) with a coat of Black(VMC)
Re-paint the gun barrels with a coat of Brassy Brass(VGC)
Highlight the black areas with a coat of Dark Grey(VMC)
Highlight the gun barrels with a coat of Bright Bronze(VGC)
Airbrush the whole mini with a 1:1 mix of Matt Varnish(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)
