LoA 10s #1 - French Artillery - Day 4.5

Hi All,

All French are now completed!

Due to an early finish, I spent a little quality time working with my camera to get better pics of these French beauties. Taking pics of minis is almost an art form in itself, especially ones this small. Today I introduced two new elements which made a big difference to the final results. Firstly, I used a small box to raise the minis up from the surface they were placed on. This had the effect of enabling me to get more light onto them from below, therefore better illuminating them. Secondly, I placed a black cloth(Apple iMac cleaning cloth to be precise) on the box the minis stood on. This really helped with the composition and white balance of the pic; so much so, that I didn't have to adjust the white balance of the pic during editing. I have ordered a grey card to help with this also and hope to use this later in the week(if it arrives).

In terms of work completed today, I painted all the metal areas, highlighted the white ones and black lined were needed. Finally I airbrushed a coat of matt varnish.

All being well the next batch of these League of Augsburg 10mm minis are on the way to me now. These include Austrian, Swabian, Franconian and Saxon Infantry/Cavalry/Artillery

As I have made a few changes to the painting guide, Ive added the update below.
