Workbench - Bolt Action - Assault on Normandy Starter Set - Panzer Grenadiers

I have finally been able to squeeze in some time to work on my Bolt Action Germans. I have decided to paint them as Panzer Grenadiers, which basically means they have green, rather than white piped shoulder boards. It also means I can list them with transports and some armoured support.
I haven't made major changes to the paint scheme since the last one. shoulder boards/collar markings are added but mostly tweaks really. As always there are some pics below of two minis, one with camo helmet. I will paint a few more with this camo, including uniforms.

Here is a painting guide:

Workbench - Bolt Action - Assault on Normandy Starter Set - US Infantry

After much research, especially looking at re-enactment groups and their suppliers online, I have settled on a 'look' for my US infantry. The changes between the mini you see below and that of my last post are: Jacket colour, I've leaned away from khaki and gone with a more historical olive drab (somewhere between OD #3 and #7). I've darkened the webbing and added buttons. The trousers are a more olive brown colour. The woodwork is lighter coloured, as is the shirt and the skin has improved (including some stubble). I still have to get some decals for these minis and attach some flock to the base. Overall I am pleased with the result and really enjoyed painting this mini. Here is the recipe:
1.     Clean and wash mouldings
2.     Assemble the minis, attaching to 2p bases
3.     Attach sand to bases with PVA
4.     Apply an undercoat with the airbrush using a 1:1 mix of White Surface Primer(V):Airbrush Thinner(V)

10.   Paint the wool hat with a thinned coat of German Camo Medium Brown(V)
11.   Paint the metal parts, helmet straps and buttons with a thinned coat of Black
12.   Paint the front helmet strap with a thinned coat of Mahogany Brown(V)
13.   Clean-up around the jacket and helmet with a coat of US Dark Green(V)
14.   Paint the helmet netting with Pastel Green(V)

Workbench - Bolt Action - Assault on Normandy Starter Set

I recently discovered/fell in love with the game Bolt Action by Warlord Games. I bought the starter set: Assault on Normandy, and in my spare time (when not commission painting) I've been working on the two mini below. By working, most my times been spent researching the uniforms and equipment used by the US and German infantry. I always find when painting historical minis a greater responsibility to get the colours right. With this in mind, the primary reason for this post to gain feedback regarding my chosen colour schemes (which I will do through a couple of forums). That being said, I would not suggest anyone copy this guide for historical accuracy. I will however 'sign off' the final colour schemes when I'm happy their accurate.

I'll start by saying that the intended period for these minis to be fighting in is post Normandy ETO. Most the paints used on these guys are Vallejo Model Colors,  which I believe are historically correct, as opposed to those depicted in Hollywood movies. Most my references come from the relevant Osprey books or the internet. I haven't varnished the minis yet, added any unit markings or finished the bases.

Eye Candy - Hordes - Legion of Everblight - Vayl, Consul of Everblight

This is my first Hordes mini that I have painted (which was completed for a friend's army). I have painted Warmachine, and as expected this mini was up to the same high standard of sculpt/detail. I hope you like it (Her).
